Our friends over at the Center for Investigative Reporting made this video to highlight the hidden cost of gasoline in the U.S. Since Sachi and I are indulging in a fairly petroleum-intensive adventure, we thought it was appropriate to share this here. We’re fairly certain still that our footprint “on the road” is smaller than what it was when we lived in LA.

We (Zachary Slobig and Sachi Cunningham) decided to quit our jobs in the journalism business and become itinerant surf bums for a year or so. Sure, we'll do a few stories too while we're at it.
Why "The Marshmallow Chronicles"? Our rig has a kooky camper that pops up into something of a covered wagon, and it looks a bit like a marshmallow.
